Sarnath Half-Day Guide

Ten kilometres from the ghats, Sarnath is a different world: lawns, ruins, and the great Dhamek Stupa marking where the Buddha first taught the dharma. Without context it is a pleasant park; with a good guide it is one of the most moving half-days in India.
