Prayagraj Sangam — Day Trip from Varanasi

The Sangam is three hours from your Varanasi hotel, which makes the holiest confluence in India a day trip — if someone else handles the moving parts. We do: the cab leaves at 6 AM, the Sangam boat is pre-arranged so you skip the bank-side bargaining, and the driver knows exactly where to wait while you take the snan where the Ganga and Yamuna visibly meet.

After the snan and a change of clothes (the boats are set up for it), the trip takes in Bade Hanuman ji — the famous reclining Hanuman beside the fort — and the Akshayavat area as access allows, with lunch at a stop the drivers trust. You are back in Varanasi between 8 and 9 PM, in time for a late aarti at Assi.

Day-wise plan

1. 6:00 AM — Leave Varanasi

   Pickup from your hotel; chai stop on the highway.
2. 9:30 AM — Boat to the Triveni Sangam

   Pre-arranged boat out to the confluence for the snan — changing space on board.
3. 1:00 PM — Bade Hanuman ji & lunch

   Darshan at the reclining Hanuman temple beside Allahabad Fort, then lunch.
4. 4:30 PM — Drive back

   Return with a break en route; drop at your Varanasi hotel by about 8:30 PM.
